LYOS combines the Global Nurture Project “Iboga” protocol and 12-Step principals to help addicts intervene in addiction and sustain recovery.

  • LYOS on Addiction

The LYOS protocol combines plant-based therapies, food medicine, Iboga, movement, and other modalities to help addicts recover a sense of sanity and self-love. The program is evidence-based and combines ancestral ways of connecting Nature (higher power) with interventions. Interventions address mind-body-spirit behaviors that cause self-harm (addiction) and limit growth (fear). LYOS protocol aims to help addicts recover the first steps of hope on the path to spiritual, emotional, and physical sobriety. These first steps are the steps we take to reclaim our sense of self-worth and love. These are the first steps we take toward living a life full of love, joy, and play.

  • Iboga & Global Nurture Project

LYOS’s co-founder, Kevin, studied Iboga with Global Nurture Project Darren McBratney. Kevin, having been in recovery for 8 years, immediately recognized the power and efficacy of McBratney’s protocol. LYOS has added a few modalities to the GNP Protocol while the base of McBratney’s program (which has served almost 3000 people) remains unchanged.

The Optimal Health protocols developed at the Global Nurture Project are personalized to each individual. When we travel abroad, we use the same process to elaborate our personalized protocol, taking into consideration what’s accessible in your living environment.

The intention is to help you understand what you need and provide you with the tools to access and optimize your personal healing process.

  • Iboga & 12 Step

We recognize that for some, the combination of plant medicine and 12-Step recovery may be counterintuitive to the 12-step process. However, the purpose of 12-Step is a spiritual solution to a debilitating mental, emotional and spiritual disease. Not only do plant medicines intervene in crippling neurological patterns that keep addicts locked in addiction- but they also treat the physiological harm. And… they help addicts come into conscious contact with their unique definition and expression of a “higher power.” For many addicts, this is the beginning of their 12-Step process. The first contact with “life having meaning” and the “addict having worth” is the beginning of the spiritual awakening process. 12 Step work is the ideal and necessary lifelong support addicts need to sustain sobriety and change sick thinking into healthy living.

I never wanted to talk about my addiction publicly…until I integrated my shame-not for doing drugs but for the pain I felt that drove me into the depths of addiction.

My name is Kevin. I’ve been in recovery for 8 years. Talking about my addiction is weird. Not because I am ashamed, but because I am not. People can get uncomfortable when you speak about addiction as they speak about a good band they saw their senior year in high school.

This is why LYOS was born–to give people a space to safely explore, connect and integrate their life. Which, for those of us that have seen death… this is one of the most difficult things we will do in our life.
